The sounds of swift footfalls echoed about the surrounding lands as the Alliance's leader, the swift ash coloured mare known as Artemis, became visible as she streaked across the lower lands and into her own territory. Her hooves scarcely seemed to touch the ground as she galloped, her silvery mane and tail flagging out behind her as the wind caught them. Dark eyes intent upon her destination, the muscles her hindquarters gathered beneath her as she reached a slight incline, sending her surging forwards and up the slope as she sped to the top of the Ash Hill, allowing her gait to ease to a canter and then a gentle trot as she reached the summit.
At last she halted, her sides rising and falling quickly as she caught her breath, and the tall, lithe mare turned to survey her territory from atop the vantage point, beyond which she could just make out the public lands and then, beyond them, her enemy's territory. Her features becoming one of disdain as she eyed the Garan Tribe's far away lands, she turned away, looking out for her newfound friend Ocean, who should be coming soon.

It was easy to tell when the dainty sorrel mare, Ocean was close by for she trampled over almost anything in her way as long as it provided a short cut of course, with each footfall a loud snort was rattle down her quivering nostrils, her mane tossed back in the breeze. Her sides heaving slowly as she galloped, her gait speedy but careless, she crashed through a fast running stream, the cold water hitting her flanks and washing the dry sweat away. Her amber opticals darted here and there, trying to pick out the wily grey mare, Artemis. And being the dainty, careless mare she sometimes was she almost collided into a pine tree, she quickly swerved away and slowed her gait to a trot, her heart beating quickly against her chest. She laughed quietly at herself for being so careless and inhaled the strong scent of pine needles as she let her gaze dart here and there, it was a breathtaking territory, and the silver mare's scent was strong. She whinnied out softly and continued to stride onward, her tail held high, after all she was Arabian blood.
Her gait finally drew to a halt as she stopped just inches away from the grey femme, Artemis. She however, did not speak for her gaze was elsewhere, skirting over every detail, she almost forgot Artemis was standing just inches away and so quickly turned her head around and grinned. "Well, wow... This place is amazing. It's so big and colourful, aye?" she beamed, auds twitching as the birds tweeted their long merry tunes, "I think I'm going to like it here. Infact I know I'm going to like it here."

Artemis stood tense and quiet, gazing out over the familiar terrain, before her gaze turned towards the sky. Night was approaching quickly, though the sky was clear as it began to darken to a deep, dark blue. Stars were becoming visible high above, though there was no moon tonight. It was the one night of the month where shadow completely obscured it's silver face, and Artemis felt a shiver of anticipation run through her. Tonight, she would travel to the Meeting Place, where the Garan Tribe would also congregate, if all went well. It would give her a chance to see what Dorado's herd were doing, and how many horses he had with him. Perhaps she was a bit of a disadvantage, having just Ocean on her side, but she would take quality over quantity any day.
Her ears pricked, head lifting at the sound of hoofbeats nearby, and Artemis turned to see the sorrel coloured mare approaching, a slight smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Ocean had certainly made enough noise to be spotted easily, but the mare's enthusiasm for her new home was obvious; thus the reason for Artemis' grin. "I'm glad you like it here," she answered, "I'm sure you'll be right at home in no time."
For a moment she paused, looking skywards again at the moonless sky, before turning back to Ocean to speak once again, "Incedentally, it's the dark of the moon tonight, which is when the Eguans and Garans meet. If you're interested in attending the meeting, follow me when I leave shortly."

Ocean's gaze skirted over the surroundings, watching as a bobcat streaked through the pines chasing what looked like a hare. But before she could watch the bobcat make it's kill, the pair dissapeared in between two large boulders. Her attention flickered back to Artemis, her gaze trailed upwards toward the darkening sky, the stars sparkling high up above. She nodded briefly and grinned in return at the grey mare's words, her weight shifted in her hide as she proceeded in resting a hind leg, her auds swivelled showing her curiosity as Artemis spoke of a meeting with Durado's tribe. So, at last Ocean would meet the tribe that Artemis dis-tasted in so much. An eager smile pressed onto her lips.
"Sure, I'd love to join you. It'll be interesting to meet this tribe, I can only imagine what the leader will be like, snobby, c.ocky, malice..." she shrugged briefly and rolled her eyes skyward, "But then again, what stallion isn't like that?" she chuckled quietly. And by these words it was obvious that something had gone wrong in her past to make Ocean hate them so much.

The grey mare’s ears flickered in the bobcat’s direction, vaguely noticing it though she did not dwell upon the creature, her thoughts turning instead to the Meeting. It would have been going for a while, she knew, but she and Ocean would arrive before it finished if they left in good time. Artemis was eager to see Dorado’s Tribe. Of course, she hated having to meet with them and treated them with the contempt that they deserved, but it was useful to see how they were faring. If their Tribe appeared weak, she would take advantage of it and perhaps order a raid, or if they looked particularly strong then she would concentrate on defending her Alliance’s territory. At the meeting, she would learn all that she could about her enemy’s plans. The idea of the gathering was so that the two rivals could meet in peace, though that did not mean that they couldn’t go there with the idea of spying on their enemies. Oh, no.
Her gaze returned to Ocean and she smiled at the sorrel mare’s words, pausing for a moment before adding, “He’s all that and worse - you’ll see for yourself when we get there.” A slight smile touched her muzzle, but she couldn’t help but wonder whether something had happened in the mare’s past to make her think that way. Not that Artemis disagreed; she agreed wholeheartedly, in fact, and her prejudice spread to the whole of the Garan Tribe, too. It had been Dorado that had made her hate them, the murderer. She broke into a canter, taking several long strides down the hill before turning back and saying, “Feel free to talk to any other horses there, but remember not to give away much about us, and try and find out as much as possible if you can!” she called to Ocean, before turning and continuing on, her gait speeding into a gallop.

Ocean's gaze was thoughtful as she watched the stars above sparkle, she tilted her head slightly, looking back at the wily silver femme but picking up curiously on her words. Ah, so he was worse than she thought? A sly grin showed faintly on her lips, well he better not cross her then, Ocean may be mistaken for a friendly, bubbly mare but she, like almost any other mare, had a bad streak to her. Well, when she was angry of course. She watched as the mare began to streak away, she was eager to see this Tribe and talk to them, mock them, whatever. She broke into a canter, her stride becoming a little longer as she too ran down hill and picked up a gallop off toward the Meeting with Artemis, heart racing as her hooves ate up the ground.
