Artemis's hooves seemed to be taking her somewhere of their own accord as she walked swiftly but silently across the lands, heading away from the Twin Mountains. Her thoughts were well and truly elsewhere; her expression thoughtful. She did not feel like returning to her own lands just yet; there was far too much on her mind. Not long ago, she had been at the Twin Mountains, where she had come across an unfamiliar stallion. She found out a while after he first appeared that he was from the Garan Tribe; her Alliance's sworn enemies, and yet she couldn't bring herself to hate him. He hadn't attacked her, hadn't argued with her. In fact he'd been quite decend about everything. And then, before he left, he'd nuzzled her, and she'd found herself yearning after his touch...
Shaking her head slightly, she looked up, recognising her surroundings. Had her hooves really carried her this far? Not ready to return to the Ash Hill just yet, she halted, lowering her muzzle to the soft grass underfoot.

Two black stallions maneuvered around. The one, who looked to be older spoke first, "Are you in love with this mare?" "I can't be. You know that Haunted. I'm from the Garan Tribe. I can't be in love with a mare from the Eguan Alliance." Thunderjam sighed, he couldn't face it. He was in love, not with anyone from his own tribe, but instead with a mare from another tribe. Haunted, "Whatever you say Thunderjam. Just quit being in denial." He turned and left. Thunderjam stopped and pondered this thought. He lowered his head and lipped at the emerald blades.

ooc|| I'm really sorry, I have to go, so this post will be rushed.
Artemis looked up at the sound of hoofbeats, her auds flickering warily as she picked up the scent of two stallions, and the unmistakeable aroma of someone from the Garan Tribe. A moment later, however, her heart skipped a beat. It was Thunderjam! Her expression curious, she picked her way towards him, auds flickering in time to hear their conversation. She didn't mean to eavesdrop, but she was close enough to hear their words. Slipping quietly towards him, she sighed and reached out to touch her muzzle again his nape. "Thunderjam?" she said softly, almost nervously, "I... I heard what you were saying. And... Gods, I think I feel the same."

Thunderjam lifted his head. He felt her muzzle against his nape. He turned his head to look at her. He smiled weakly and said, "Hello. You do?" He watched her and then looked away. He looked back at her and rubbed his muzzle against her nape softly.

Artemis's pale auds flicked in Thunderjam's direction as he turned to look at her. Her sides rose and fell gently in a silent sigh, and she nodded silently, pausing for a moment before parting her lips to speak. "I wouldn't lie about something like this," she answered softly, watching the stallion calmly.

Thunderjam looked at Artemis. He smiled calmly and said, "You are so beautiful." He was almost breathless as he said those words. He moved toward her side and nudged her gently. He circled her, running his muzzle along every feature upon her form. He nuzzled her nape gently, as he returned back infront of her.

Artemis let her gaze wander skywards, and as she began to find herself thinking about the legalities, the cold hard facts of what she was doing here, she found that she was just pushing them away, abandoning any negative thoughts for a little while at least as she looked back to the stallion, and as her expressive optics took in his calm smile, she couldn't help but feel her expression light up in return. Her pale auds flickered at his words and she could feel her heart racing. Her gaze followed him as he circled her, reaching out to brush her muzzle softly against his sides as he moved around her, and she shifted closer against him as he returned to her front.

Thunderjam looked at her. He wanted her to be his mate, but it could not be. He lowered his head in shame and said, "I'm sorry." He lifted his head up once more and rested his head upon her back, lovingly. Yes, he loved her, but he also knew it could not be.

The ash coloured vixen looked up, meeting Thunderjam's gaze, sensing that all was not well. She reached out towards him as he lowered his head in shame, her sides rising and falling softly in a silent sigh. "It's all right," she answered, her voice barely more than a whisper. Of course, she had never been under the illusion that this could last forever, but at least they could make the most of it before it became to difficult.

"I love you." His voice escaped from his kissers. He looked into her gaze and smiled sweetly. He hoped they could try to at least be together. He nuzzled her cheek gently, yet lovingly. He whinnied softly to her before saying, "I know it is against the Garan tribe to love an Eguan Alliance, but I don't care."

"I love you too," came her whispered reply, her expression lightening visibly as he met her gaze and smiled and she shifted slightly closer towards him to press her muzzle against the side of his nape in a chaste nuzzle. "Rules are only made to be broken," she replied with the hint of a mischevious grin, tossing her head.

Thunderjam smiled lightly. He nuzzled her and said, "I want you to be my mate, but it is forbidden." He was glad that she loved him in return. He nudged her playfully and happily.

"I... I know," she answered, returning his affectionate nuzzle, before adding, "But it's only a title, and we don't need that to be in love, do we?" A grin touched her delicate features at his nudge and she turned to brush affectionatley agaisnt his side.

"No we do not. We can be in love without a title." He nuzzled her lovingly and and lowered his head. He lipped at the emerald blades once more.

It was as though all of her worries, all of her reservations, had miraculously dissapeared. Oh, of course Artemis knew that they would return sometime, and probably all the worse for their absence, but right then she just didn't care. All that mattered to her just then was being close to this stallion, this stallion who she would normally swear to hate by principle. She didn't know what she would do about this, but right then she didn't worry. She nodded, a smile upon her lips, grazing at Thunderjam's side.
